The Railway Connection
For a time, Clonmel was an important stop along the Kansas City, Mexico and Orient Railway. This railway helped connect different parts of the country and transport goods and people. Being a station meant trains would stop there, making it a busy spot.
Mail and Its Name
A post office opened in Clonmel in 1905. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years before it closed in 1938. Clonmel was named after a town called Clonmel in Ireland.
