Bravo

The community of Bravo began around 1867. It started because Ezra L. Davis and Alonzo Sherman built a sawmill there.

Clyde Centre

Clyde Centre also started with a sawmill in 1872. It even had its own post office for a few years, from 1873 to 1877. After the sawmill closed, the area became mostly farmland and is no longer a distinct community.

Pearl

Pearl is another small community in Clyde Township. It started in 1875 with a sawmill built by Eggleston & Hazleton. It was first called Clyde Center because it was near the middle of the township.

The community was renamed Pearl in 1881, after Simeon O. Pearl. A post office was opened there on April 15, 1881. Pearl was also a stop on the Chicago and West Michigan Railway, which was a train line.
