Coalton is a small place in western Boyd County, Kentucky, in the United States. It is an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Coalton is located along U.S. Route 60, an important road that used to be called the Midland Trail.
This community is part of a larger area called the Huntington-Ashland Metropolitan Statistical Area. This is a way to describe a big region that includes several cities and their surrounding areas.
