Coffeed was a special kind of coffee company. It was known as a "philanthropic artisanal coffee company." This means they sold high-quality coffee and also helped people. Their main office was in Queens, New York City, in the USA.
Coffeed opened its first main coffee shop in Long Island City in September 2012. By February 2016, Coffeed had grown quite a bit. They had about twelve locations in the New York area. They even had one coffee shop far away in Seoul, South Korea! Some of their famous spots included LIC Landing, which was an outdoor café. They also had New Leaf, a restaurant in Manhattan's Fort Tryon Park.
In June 2019, their first main shop on Northern Boulevard closed. LIC Landing then became their new main location. However, Coffeed eventually closed all its coffee shops. The company stopped operating in December 2019.
Helping Others: Coffeed's Charitable Work
Coffeed had a unique way of doing business. They were a "philanthropic" company. This means they focused on helping others. Each Coffeed location gave a part of the money they earned to charity. This was usually between 3% and 10% of their sales.
The charities they supported were always in the same neighborhood as the coffee shop. This helped local communities directly. Some of the groups they worked with included The New York Foundling and the New York Restoration Project (NYRP). They also helped City Growers and Community Mainstreaming Associates. By 2016, Coffeed had given almost $250,000 to different charities. This shows how much they cared about giving back to the community.
