As of 2008, Coincy had a population of 1,267 people. This makes it a relatively small community. The town is led by a mayor, who is like the head of the local government. From 2008 to 2014, the mayor of Coincy was Frédéric Martinaud. The commune is part of a larger group of towns called the Région de Château Thierry, which helps them work together on local projects.
