Visiting Cerro de las Pavas
The hill known as Cerro de las Pavas is a popular spot. You can get there from Cojutepeque by car or by walking a winding path.
In 1924, a governor named Fidel Antonio Novoa Fuentes started making improvements to the hill. He built a park there called Parque de Montaña. Later, during the time of President Óscar Osorio, the paths to the top were made even better. A poet named Raúl Contreras helped with these improvements.
At the top of the hill, there is a small cave, or grotto. Inside, you will find a statue of Our Lady of Fátima. Every May, many people go on a special trip, called a pilgrimage, to this grotto. It is a very important religious event in El Salvador.
Famous Cojutepeque Sausages

These delicious chorizos are sent to other parts of the country to be sold. The sausages are typically made with pork and beef. They also contain salt and other ingredients like soy protein, spices, and herbs.
