Cold Spring is a small community located in Lower Township, within Cape May County, in the state of New Jersey. It's not a separate town but part of a larger township.

A Look at Cold Spring's Past
Cold Spring has a long history. Its first post office opened in 1809. Aaron Eldredge was the very first postmaster, helping people send and receive mail.
Historic Buildings and Sites
The area is home to many historic places. One important building is the Cold Spring Presbyterian Church. People often call it the "Old Brick" church. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 because of its historical importance.
You can also visit the Historic Cold Spring Village. This is like a living museum outdoors. It shows what life was like in the past. Many of its buildings are also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Cold Spring Grange Hall, a historic building itself, is the main entrance to the village.

Students in Cold Spring attend schools run by two main districts. The Lower Township School District serves younger students. Older students go to schools in the Lower Cape May Regional School District.
Elementary Schools in Cold Spring
Three schools for elementary grades are located right in Cold Spring:
- Carl T. Mitnick Elementary School: This school teaches students in grades 1 and 2. It also holds the main offices for the school district. The school is named after Carl T. Mitnick, who generously donated land to the township.
- Maud Abrams Elementary School: Students in grades 3 and 4 attend this school.
- Sandman Consolidated School: This school is for students in grades 5 and 6.

Younger children in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten go to David Douglass School. This school is located in Villas. Middle and high school students attend Richard Teitelman Middle School and Lower Cape May Regional High School. These schools are in the Erma area.
Students can also choose to attend Cape May County Technical High School. This school is in Cape May Court House. It offers both regular and career-focused programs. It is free for all county residents. Students with special learning needs may go to Cape May County Special Services School District.
In the mid-1900s, Cold Spring had its own elementary school. It welcomed students of all backgrounds.
