Colin Cloud was born on January 9, 1987, in Harthill, Scotland. When he was younger, he was quite shy. He studied forensic investigation at university. Colin has shared that he was inspired by Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock is a fictional detective created by Arthur Conan Doyle. Colin admired how Sherlock could understand people just by observing them.
Before becoming an entertainer, Colin studied forensic investigation. He focused on criminal profiling at Glasgow Caledonian University. This was from 2003 to 2007. Later, he decided to follow his passion for entertainment instead.
How Colin Cloud Started His Career
Colin Cloud began his career as a speaker in 2007. He worked with a company called Tree of Knowledge. In 2013, he left that company. He wanted to focus on building his career in TV and stage shows.
Early in his career, Colin appeared on the TV show Penn & Teller: Fool Us. He used his birth name, Colin McLeod, for this appearance. On the show, he tried to trick the famous magicians Penn & Teller. However, he was not able to fool them.
In 2012, Colin also appeared on Britain's Got Talent. The judges liked his performance. But he did not make it to the live semi-finals of the show. That same year, Colin performed at the Edinburgh International Magic Festival.
