Collinsville is located in the northwest part of Lauderdale County. You can find it at these coordinates: 32°29′16″N 88°50′39″W / 32.48778°N 88.84417°W.
Mississippi Highway 19 runs right through Collinsville. If you head southeast on this highway for about 13 miles, you'll reach Meridian, which is the main city and county seat. If you go northwest for about 26 miles, you'll get to Philadelphia.
The area of Collinsville is about 14.3 square miles (37.0 km2). Most of this is land, with a tiny bit of water. The town sits on a low ridge. This ridge separates two creeks: Suqualena Creek to the west and Twitley Branch to the east. Both of these creeks flow into Okatibbee Creek. Okatibbee Creek is part of a larger river system that eventually leads to the Pascagoula River.
Right on the eastern edge of Collinsville is the Okatibbee Dam. This dam creates a large lake called Okatibbee Lake, which covers about 5.9-square-mile (15 km2).
