Colombres is a special place in Asturias, a region in northern Spain. It's one of the three "parishes" (which are like small local areas) that make up the bigger area called Ribadedeva.

In 2011, about 1,385 people lived in Colombres. This village is quite famous! In 2015, it won the "Premio Princesa de Asturias" award for "Pueblo ejemplar," which means "Exemplary Village." This award is given to a town that stands out for its community spirit and achievements.

One of the most well-known people from Colombres was Iñigo Noriega. He was born on May 21, 1853. When he was young, he moved to Mexico with his uncle. After becoming successful, he built a beautiful palace in his home village called La Quinta de Guadalupe. Today, this palace is home to the Fundación de Archivos de Indianos. This foundation keeps important documents about people who emigrated (moved away) from Spain to North and South America, especially since the 1800s.

Colombres is located in the beautiful region of Asturias. It has a lovely coastline along the Cantabrian Sea to the north. To its west is the region of Cantabria and the Deva River. To the south, it borders the parish of San Juan, and to the west, the parish of Noriega.
