History of the Toulouse University System
The Toulouse University System was created on July 1, 2015. It was formed under a French law about higher education and research. Before this, there was a similar group called a "pôle de recherche et d'enseignement supérieur" (PRES) since 2007. The new system helped coordinate education and research even better.
In 2021, experts looked at how the university system was working. They suggested some changes. These changes led to the system becoming an "experimental ComUE" in 2022. Then, on January 1, 2023, the system officially changed its name to the Université de Toulouse.
