Constance, Minnesota facts for kids
Constance was a small, old community that used to be in Anoka County, Minnesota, in the United States. It was never officially a city or town, which means it was an "unincorporated community." Today, the land where Constance once stood is part of the city of Andover. It's like a forgotten village, with very few signs left that it was ever there.
The Story of Constance
Constance began as a small settlement before the year 1897. It was located in a part of the area then known as Grow Township.
Life in Constance
For many years, Constance was an active place.
- It had its own post office, which served the community from 1897 until 1955. This means people could send and receive mail right there.
- There was also a train station in Constance. This station was part of the old Burlington Northern Railroad. Train stations were very important back then for travel and moving goods.
What Remains Today
Over time, Constance faded away.
- Grow Township, where Constance was located, officially became the city of Andover in 1973.
- Today, almost nothing is left of the original community of Constance.
- However, you can still find "Constance Boulevard." This road is a main two-lane street in the local area, serving as a reminder of the community that once existed there.
