Convertors facts for kids
The Convertors were a cool series of action figures made by a company called Select back in the 1980s. Just like the popular Gobots and Transformers, Convertors were awesome toys that could change from vehicles or animals into robots! They came out around the same time as those other famous transforming toys.

The Convertors Story
The Convertors toys had an exciting story behind them. It was all about a big fight between good guys and bad guys!
- The good guys were called the Defenders. They had brave friends known as the Avarians.
- The bad guys were the Maladroids. They teamed up with their sneaky friends, the Insectors.
This made for lots of fun adventures and battles with the toys!
Convertors Toy Collection
The Convertors toy line offered many different figures. They came in various sizes and prices. This was a bit different from other transforming toy lines at the time. It meant there was a Convertors toy for everyone!
Avarian Robot Animals
The Avarians were allies of the heroic Defenders. They were cool robot animals that could transform!

- Rex - a blue robot eagle
- Robat - a black robot bat
Heroic Defenders
The Defenders were the main good guys in the Convertors story. They came in many different forms.

These were regular-sized transforming vehicles.

- Tanker - a tank
- Wheels - an off-road vehicle
Motorized Defenders
These Defenders could move on their own! They were all cool boats.

These were fast and powerful car robots.
- D.A. Tona - a white car
- Indy - a blue and white car
- Monty Carlo - a blue car

These were bigger, tougher transforming vehicles.

Mini-Bots
These were smaller, pocket-sized transforming cars.
- City - a red Honda City Turbo car
- Sports - a silver Toyota Soarer sports car
- Van - a black Onebox Nissan Vanette van
- Wagon - a blue Toyota Hilux pickup truck
Evil Insectors
The Insectors were creepy robot bugs that helped the Maladroids.

- Morphus - a locust
- Scorpio - a scorpion

The Maladroids were the main bad guys. They had powerful transforming vehicles and jets.

Convertors on Display
Did you know a Convertors toy is on display at Walt Disney World? At Disney's Pop Century Resort, there's a hotel that celebrates different decades. In the lobby, there are special display boxes with items from each decade. In the 1980s display, you can find a Convertors Sunyak robot! It's a cool piece of toy history.
