Cook (born November 11, 2000 – died May 19, 2016) was a famous Jack Russell Terrier dog. He was well-known for his acting roles, especially as Pancho in a popular Spanish lottery advertisement. Cook was a very successful dog actor, earning a good amount of money for his work each day.
Biography
Cook was born in Casteldefels, a town near Barcelona, Spain. His owner and trainer was Antonio Valor, along with Antonio's wife, Yolanda.
When Cook was just four months old, he was sold for 70,000 pesetas. Pesetas were the money used in Spain before the Euro was introduced. His original name was Lucke, but his new owners decided to change it to Cook.
Cook had a companion named Turia, and they had several puppies together. One of their puppies, named Ramsés, also became a busy actor, just like his dad. Cook started his acting career very young, at only six months old!
Cook became famous for playing Pancho in a lottery advertisement for Lotería Primitiva. Because of his work with the lottery company, Cook even got to attend the 24th Goya Awards, which are big awards for movies in Spain.
In 2003, Cook acted in a TV show called Aquí no hay quien viva. He played a character named Valentín, who was the companion of another character, Vicenta Benito.
Cook also starred in his own movie! In August 2014, he played the main role in the film Pancho, el perro millonario (Pancho, the Millionaire Dog). This movie was made by Atresmedia Cine.
Sadly, Cook passed away on May 19, 2016, when he was 15 years old. He died from a cardiac arrest, which is when the heart suddenly stops working.
