Copacabana is a lovely suburb located on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. A suburb is like a neighborhood, usually found just outside a big city. Copacabana is part of the Central Coast Council, which is the local government group that helps manage the area.

This suburb was named by real estate developers in the mid-1900s. It sits at the northern end of Macmasters Beach. These two beaches are separated by a place called Cochrone Lagoon.

The northern tip of Copacabana beach is Tudibaring Point. In the local Aboriginal language, this name means 'place where the waves pound like a beating heart'. The bay itself is called Allagai, which means "nest of snakes" in the same language.
