This means it's a special area defined by the government for counting people. In 2020, about 1,511 people lived there. Copeland started as a town connected to the railroad. It was named after a local person called D.R. Copeland.
Where is Copeland Located?
Copeland is found in the northern part of Delaware County, Oklahoma. To its north, it shares a border with Ottawa County. The community also reaches south to the northern shore of Grand Lake o' the Cherokees.
A main road, U.S. Route 59, goes right through Copeland. This road can take you about 6 miles (10 km) south to the city of Grove. If you go about 9 miles (14 km) northwest, you'll reach Interstate 44 near Afton.
