A Look Back: Corcubión's History

Long ago, Corcubión was part of an area known as the county of Traba. Later, it became owned by a powerful noble, the Count of Altamira. This shows how land ownership changed over time in this region.

Understanding Corcubión's Language

Corcubión is special because its local government was the first to officially use a specific way of writing the Galician language. This way of writing is called the AGAL norm. It follows ideas of Reintegrationism. This means they believe Galician is closely related to Portuguese.

You can see this on their official website. It gives you choices for "Galician" (which is the standard way, called NOMIGa) and "Galician-Portuguese" (the AGAL way). The website also offers Spanish and English.

Corcubión's Population Over Time

The number of people living in Corcubión has changed quite a bit over the years. Looking at the chart below helps us see these changes.
