Playing for the Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills chose Cordy Glenn in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft. He was the 41st player picked overall. He was the ninth player from the University of Georgia to be drafted by the Bills.
In his first game on September 9, 2012, Glenn started as a left tackle. He helped his team's running back, C.J. Spiller, gain 169 yards. This was the first time a Bills rookie started at left tackle in a season opener since 1990. For the first two games of the season, Glenn and his offensive line did not let opponents sack their quarterback. This was a rare achievement for the team.
In 2012, Glenn started 13 games. His offensive line helped the team's running game. They allowed very few sacks, which means they protected their quarterback well.
In 2013, Glenn started all 16 games for the first time. His blocking helped two Bills running backs each gain over 800 yards. He continued to start all 16 games in both 2014 and 2015.
In 2016, Glenn signed a new five-year contract with the Bills. However, in 2017, he had foot and ankle injuries. He only played six games before his season ended early.
Time with the Cincinnati Bengals
In 2018, the Bills traded Cordy Glenn to the Cincinnati Bengals. He became the Bengals' starting left tackle. He played 13 games, missing three due to injuries.
In 2019, the Bengals drafted another player, Jonah Williams. Glenn was moved to left guard. But when Williams got hurt, Glenn moved back to left tackle. He missed some games due to a concussion he got during a preseason game. He was also suspended for a short time due to issues related to his health and recovery.
Cordy Glenn was released by the Bengals on March 13, 2020.
