Cornell Solomon John, born in 1963, is a talented British actor. He has appeared in many movies and TV shows since 1999. You might know him best as Uncle Curtis from the films Kidulthood, Adulthood, and Brotherhood. He also played Sam James in the BBC soap opera EastEnders in 2013. Before his screen roles, he was the first actor to play Mufasa in the West End musical The Lion King.

Starting His Acting Journey
Cornell John began his acting career on TV. His first appearances were in two episodes of the show The Knock. After that, he was in other TV series like Maisie Raine and Lenny Henry in Pieces. He also appeared in movies such as Rottweiler and Red Mercury.
Famous Roles in Movies
His most well-known movie role is Curtis, Trevor's uncle, in the 2006 film Kidulthood. He played this character again in the sequel, Adulthood, which came out in 2008. This sequel was directed by fellow actor Noel Clarke. Cornell John returned as Uncle Curtis for a third time in Brotherhood in 2016.
Narnia and Other Adventures
In 2008, he also played Glenstorm in the fantasy movie The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. He even voiced the same character in the video game based on the movie. Cornell John has lent his voice to other video games too, including EyeToy: Play and Fable.
TV Shows and Voice Acting
Cornell John has appeared in several popular TV shows. He was on the soap opera Doctors twice, in 2001 and 2005. He also appeared in the medical drama Holby City in 2002 and again in 2012. In 2010, he was in another medical drama called Casualty. He played Didi Mputu in four episodes of Five Days in 2010 and Sid in three episodes of Inside Men in 2012.

In 2011, he appeared in an episode of Top Boy. Other movies he has been in include Anuvahood (2011) and Jack the Giant Slayer (2013). From 2011 to 2012, Cornell John was the voice of Wensley Dale in the children's TV show Rastamouse. He voiced the character in 31 episodes.
Life in Soap Operas
In 2012, he made a special appearance in the BBC show Waterloo Road. He played Lionel Tsibi, the uncle of a regular character named Lula Tsibi. In 2013, he joined the cast of the long-running BBC soap opera EastEnders. He played Sam James, who was the husband of Ava Hartman and father of Dexter Hartman. He first appeared on May 14, 2013, and his final episode was on December 16, 2013.
