History of Cornwall
Cornwall was started in the year 1887. It was founded by a person named Mason Cornwall, and the community was named after him.
Soon after it was founded, a post office was opened in Cornwall in 1887. A post office is where people send and receive letters and packages. This post office helped the people living in Cornwall stay connected. It operated for several years before it closed down in 1901.
The home of the founder, Mason Cornwall, is a special building. It is called the Mason Cornwall House. This house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it is an important building because of its history and architecture.
In 1909, a few years after the post office closed, Cornwall had about 50 people living there.
