Just east of Cowesett are the neighborhood of Chepiwanoxet and Greenwich Bay. Greenwich Bay is a part of the larger Narragansett Bay. Cowesett is sometimes called "Wellesley by the Sea." This is because it's similar to the well-off town of Wellesley, Massachusetts, but it's right by the coast! The neighborhood is also close enough to walk to Main Street in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. You can also easily reach fun spots like Scallop Town Park, Academy Field, and the town library.
