Cozz's Music Journey

Starting Out (2013–2015)

Cozz started taking rap seriously in 2013. He recorded some of his first songs on a demo tape. A few months later, he released a music video for his song "Dreams." People quickly started to notice his talent.

Soon, Cozz had meetings with many different music labels. His manager showed the "Dreams" music video to famous rapper J. Cole. After seeing Cozz's work, J. Cole signed him to his own label, Dreamville Records.

On October 3, 2014, Cozz released his first album, Cozz & Effect. This album was originally meant to be a free mixtape. But when it was finished, everyone thought it sounded so good that it should be sold. Dreamville Records first released it digitally, and then as a physical CD. In 2015, Cozz joined J. Cole on his "2014 Forest Hills Drive Tour." He performed alongside other artists like Bas and Omen.

New Projects (2016–2020)

On January 4, 2016, Cozz released his second big project. It was his first mixtape, called Nothin' Personal. A producer named Meez created all the music for this mixtape. Other rappers like Boogie and Bas also appeared on it. To promote the mixtape, Cozz released four songs from it: "Tabs," "Growth," "My Side," and "Who Said."

Cozz's second album, Effected, came out on February 13, 2018. This album featured well-known artists like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Some popular songs from the album were "Questions," "Demons N Distractions," and "Bout It." To share his new album, Cozz announced "The Effected Tour" in North America. He visited 16 cities to perform his new music. In 2018, Cozz also worked with DJ Megan Ryte on a short mixtape called Aftermath Of My Dreams.
