Craig V. Hickman, born on December 8, 1967, is an American writer, farmer, and politician. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He currently serves in the Maine Senate, representing District 14. Before this, he was a representative in the Maine House of Representatives. He worked for Maine's 82nd district from 2012 to 2018.
Hickman won his first election for the Maine House in 2012. He focused his campaign on important issues. These included ending hunger and helping small farms and businesses. He also supported new ideas for clean energy. In 2021, he was elected to the Maine Senate in a special election. He took over the seat from Shenna Bellows.

Early Life and Education
Craig Hickman was born in Madison, Wisconsin, on December 8, 1967. He is of African-American heritage. He went to Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was the top student in his graduating class.
After high school, Hickman attended Harvard University. He graduated in 1990 with a bachelor's degree. His studies focused on government.
Political Career
Hickman first ran for the Maine House in 2010. He did not win that election. However, in 2012, he tried again. He won his party's primary election by a large amount. Then, he won the general election on November 6, 2012. He beat his opponent, Scott Davis, with 59% of the votes.
Two years later, in 2014, Hickman was re-elected. He won by an even larger margin. He received 65% of the votes against Lee Fellman.
In 2020, Hickman spoke at the Democratic National Convention. He talked about his farm. He also announced the votes for presidential candidates Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders from Maine. In 2021, he became a Maine State Senator.
Life in Maine
Hickman lives in Winthrop, Maine. He runs a historic farm called Annabessacook Farm Bed & Breakfast. At his farm, he often provides free meals to people who need them.
He also writes a popular sports blog online. He used to be the President of the Winthrop Area Rotary Club. This club helps the local community.
Awards and Books
Craig Hickman has received several awards for his writing and community work. His book Fumbling Toward Divinity was recognized in 2006. It was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Awards in the Spirituality category.
