What are Craugastoridae Frogs?
The Craugastoridae family is made up of many different kinds of frogs. Scientists have found 112 species in the Craugastor group. There are two species in the Haddadus group.
These frogs are unique because of where they live. They also have special ways of growing up.
Where Craugastor Frogs Live
The Craugastor genus is the larger group. These frogs can be found in many places. They live in the southwestern United States. You can also find them throughout Mexico and Central America. Their home range stretches all the way to northwestern South America.
This means they live in a wide variety of habitats. They can be found in forests, mountains, and other damp places.
Where Haddadus Frogs Live
The Haddadus genus is much smaller. It only has two known species. These frogs live in a specific area. They are found only in southeastern Brazil.
This makes them very special to that region. Scientists continue to study these unique frogs.
