How Crazy Dips Were Invented

Crazy Dips were first thought up by a company in Korea called Jeongwoo Confectionery. This company had been making popping candy for many years, starting in 1985.

When Jeongwoo made popping candy, they had a small problem. Some of the candy pieces were too small, like powder, or not the right size. These leftover bits were a bit of a headache for the company.

Then, a smart manager at Jeongwoo had a great idea. He thought, "What if we use these smaller pieces with a lollipop?" That's how the idea of a "dipping candy" was born! It was a brand-new way to enjoy candy.

Jeongwoo showed their new dipping candy idea to Chupa Chups. Chupa Chups liked the idea and decided to try selling it. They first tested Crazy Dips in the United States in 1988. It quickly became a popular treat.
