Crissiumal is a town, also called a municipality, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It is located in the southern part of Brazil. In 2007, about 14,726 people lived there. Crissiumal shares a river border with Argentina along the Uruguay River.
This town is famous for its sports history. People often call Crissiumal "The land of goalkeepers." This is because many talented goalkeepers came from this area. One of the most famous is Taffarel. He was a goalkeeper for the Brazilian Soccer Team. Taffarel played in the 1994 FIFA World Cup in Italy.
The main way people make a living in Crissiumal is through farming. The town has many small rural farms. Crissiumal is one of the biggest milk producers in Brazil. Every day, the farms produce about 70,000 liters of milk.
