Cristina Álvarez Rodríguez was born on December 28, 1967. She is an architect and a politician from Argentina. Currently, she serves as the Minister of Government and Infrastructure for Buenos Aires Province. She works under Governor Axel Kicillof.
Before this role, she was a National Deputy. She represented Buenos Aires Province from 2015 to 2021. Cristina is the great-niece of Eva Perón, a very famous Argentine political figure. She belongs to the Justicialist Party, which follows the ideas of Peronism.
Education and Early Life
Cristina Álvarez Rodríguez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This happened on December 28, 1967. She studied architecture at the University of Buenos Aires. She earned her degree in 1992. Her studies were at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism. Later, in 2002, she completed a master's degree. This was in Photography from the University of Palermo.
Political Career
Cristina Álvarez Rodríguez began her public service in 2000. She was named the Director of the Historical Archives of the Buenos Aires Province. A year later, in 2001, she became the President of the Institute of Social Welfare. This institute helps people in Buenos Aires Province.
In 2002, she took on a new role. She became the Secretary of Culture for the same province. From 2003 to 2005, she led the Cultural Institute of Buenos Aires. She also served as President Ad-honorem of the Social Integration Council. This was from 2005 to 2007.
During this time, she was also part of several important committees. These included Municipal Affairs, Culture, Natural Resources, and Tourism. In 2007, she was appointed Minister of Tourism. This was for the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires. She was also elected as a National Deputy in 2005, 2015, and 2019.
