The Impact of Hurricane Isaac in 2012
In 2012, a big storm called Hurricane Isaac brought a lot of rain to the Cumanacoa area. This heavy rainfall caused the Manzanares River to overflow its banks.
Flooding and Its Effects
The river's waters flooded many parts of Cumanacoa. About 1,200 homes were covered in water. Many of these homes were damaged, and some were even completely destroyed. Because of the danger, some people had to be rescued by helicopters. Similar flooding also happened in other parts of Venezuela, like in the city of Caracas, where many families had to leave their homes for safety.
