Curtis Blair's Basketball Playing Days
Curtis Blair was a talented basketball player. He played as a point guard, which is often like the team's leader on the court. He was 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighed 185 pounds.
College Basketball at Richmond
Blair played college basketball for the University of Richmond Spiders. He was a star player there. In the 1991–92 season, he was named the best player in his conference. This award was called the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year.
He was also chosen for the First-team All-CAA twice. This means he was one of the top players in the entire conference. He was also picked for the CAA All-Tournament team three times.
Joining the NBA Draft
After college, Curtis Blair hoped to play in the NBA. He was chosen by the Houston Rockets in the 1992 NBA draft. He was the 53rd player picked overall in the second round. Even though he was drafted, he never played in a regular NBA game for the Rockets.
Career as an NBA Referee
After playing basketball overseas for a short time, Curtis Blair became a referee in the NBA. He started his referee career in 2008. As an NBA referee, he wears the number 74.
