History of Cygnet Village
Cygnet was first known as Pleasant View. It was officially mapped out in 1883. That same year, a post office opened with the name Cygnet. The village became an official town in 1889.
Cygnet faced some tough times in its early years. A big fire caused a lot of damage on January 30, 1891. Later, in 1897, a large explosion also caused significant damage to many buildings in the village.
