Cypress Creek Town Center is a big shopping area in Lutz, Florida. It has many popular stores. Some main stores include Hobby Lobby and Burlington. You can also find Five Below, Earth Fare, and HomeGoods. Other big stores are Costco and At Home. It is also home to the Tampa Premium Outlets, which is a Simon Outlet Mall.

History of Cypress Creek Town Center

Plans for Cypress Creek Town Center started a long time ago. This was in the early 2000s. In 2004, it was approved as a "megamall" project. The project got special permits in 2007. However, some challenges caused delays. The project was put on hold for a while.

In 2012, Saks Off Fifth was the first store announced. It was planned for the Tampa Premium Outlets. The outlets were expected to open in 2014. Costco was announced in December 2014. Its opening date was then moved to Summer 2015. By early 2015, the opening was set for Fall 2015. More stores and restaurants were announced. These included Chick-fil-A, Culver's, and Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. However, Kohl's was planned but never opened.

In June, BJ's Brewhouse and Panda Express were added. By August 2015, the outlets were almost ready. A job fair was held on August 27. Culver's opened on February 29. Starbucks and On the Border also joined the list. The Tampa Premium Outlets officially opened in October 2015. This was right on schedule.

Cheddar's opened on June 6. Chick-fil-A followed on June 30. By 2018, a 130-room Hyatt Hotel was announced. It was planned for the edge of the shopping area. Many new places were added by March. A strip mall opened with Mellow Mushroom and Great Clips. It also had Mattress One, Men's Wearhouse, and Aspen Dental. A nail salon called Noire Nail Bar was also set to open.

Chuy's was planned for Spring 2018. Bahama Breeze was under construction. Other restaurants that opened included Taco Bell, Wendy's, Pollo Tropical, and Ford's Garage. Plans for a Burlington and a PetSmart were also announced. However, PetSmart has not opened yet.

More upcoming stores were announced at a special event. These included Chipotle, Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, Earth Fare, Blaze Pizza, and Walk-on Bistreaux & Bar. At Home and Five Below were being built by June. MOD Pizza started construction in August. Earth Fare opened in February 2019. Hobby Lobby, Burlington, and Five Below all opened in March. HomeGoods opened in April.

Recently, more restaurants are planned. These are Aussie Grill, Carrabba's Italian Grill, and Bonefish Grill. Aldi also plans to open at the center. They filed plans as early as 2017. Maps from 2017 and 2018 showed Party City and Dick's Sporting Goods as future stores. It is not known if these plans were definite. Earth Fare later closed all its stores, including the one at Cypress Creek.
