Cypress Valley Canopy Tours is an exciting adventure park in the Texas Hill Country. It's a special place where you can explore the treetops! You can go on amazing zip-line rides, walk high up on sky bridges, and even sleep in cool treehouses. This fun resort opened in 2005.

Discovering Cypress Valley

Cypress Valley Canopy Tours was started by Amy and David Beilharz. They bought the land in 1999. After visiting Costa Rica and seeing zip-lining there, they decided to bring the idea home. In 2005, they opened Cypress Valley. It was the very first zip-lining tour of its kind in the United States!

The park is about 30 miles east of Austin, Texas. It covers 88 acres of beautiful cypress forest. The Beilharz family bought this land in 1998.

What to Do at Cypress Valley

When you visit, you can join a guided tour. These tours teach you about the local biology (living things), ecology (how living things interact with their environment), and the history of the area. The tours include:

  • Six exciting zip lines
  • Three sky bridges high above the ground
  • A fun rappel (a controlled slide down a rope)

Many of the cypress trees here are super tall, over 100 feet high! The park also has a picnic area, a small lake, and a swimming pool for guests to enjoy.

Amazing Treehouses

Cypress Valley is famous for its unique treehouses where guests can stay overnight. The first treehouse was built in 2006. Sadly, it was damaged during the 2011 Texas wildfires. But new ones have been built!

The Nest and The Lofthaven

One of the treehouses is called "The Nest." People have said it's like a super fancy home that the Swiss Family Robinson might have built! Another popular treehouse is "The Lofthaven." It's known as a cozy, romantic spot for two people, high up like a bird's nest.

Other cool treehouses at Cypress Valley include Juniper and Willow. Staying in one of these treehouses is a unique way to experience nature.

Recognized for Adventure

Cypress Valley Canopy Tours is known for being a great place for adventure. The Houston Chronicle newspaper even called it one of the 20 best places in Texas to get your adrenaline pumping! They said it's perfect for people who love excitement and don't want to just relax.

Future Adventures

As of 2017, Amy and David Beilharz are working on a new treehouse resort. This one will be built among the giant California redwoods!
