Type Reservoir

Cúber is a special lake on the island of Mallorca in Spain. But it's not a natural lake! It's actually a reservoir, which means it's a big pool of water made by people. It sits in the beautiful valleys between two mountains, Puig Major and Morro de Cúber.

What is Cúber?

Cúber is an artificial water reservoir. This means it's a large area where water is collected and stored, usually by building a dam. It's located in the valleys of the Puig Major mountain and Morro de Cúber.

Why is Cúber Important?

Cúber works together with another reservoir called Gorg Blau. Their main job is to collect and store water. This water is super important because it provides drinking water for the city of Palma de Mallorca and all the towns nearby. The water travels from the reservoirs through a stream called the Almandrà torrent.

Where Does the Name Come From?

The name "Cúber" comes from a nearby old farm or estate called el Morro de Cúber.

Is There a Place to Stay?

Near the reservoir, there's a small building called a refuge. It's a simple place where up to six people can stay. It has lights powered by solar panels, a cozy fireplace, and a table. However, there are no beds in the refuge.
