Charles Chambers (born January 25, 1971 – died March 4, 2025) was a famous American DJ. He was known by his stage name, DJ Funk. He helped create a type of music called ghetto house, which is a subgenre of house music. House music is a style of electronic dance music that started in Chicago. Ghetto house often has fast beats and spoken words.
During the 1990s, DJ Funk became very popular in the Chicago and Detroit areas. He was also well-known in the Midwest rave scene, which is where people gather to dance to electronic music. His album Booty House Anthems, released in 1999, sold over one million copies across the country. In 2006, he started his own music label called Funk Records. DJ Funk was also featured in a 1998 film about electronic music called Modulations. He passed away from cancer on March 4, 2025, when he was 54 years old.
