Dacre Kayd Montgomery-Harvey (born November 22, 1994) is an actor from Australia. He started acting in short films when he was a teenager. His first big movie was the adventure comedy A Few Less Men in 2017.
In 2017, Dacre played Jason Scott / Red Ranger in the superhero movie Power Rangers. He also started playing Billy Hargrove in the Netflix science fiction horror show Stranger Things. His acting in Stranger Things was highly praised and earned him several awards nominations. Since then, he has appeared in the Christmas horror film Better Watch Out (2017) and the romantic comedy The Broken Hearts Gallery (2020). He also played Steve Binder in Baz Lurhmann's movie Elvis (2022).

Dacre's Early Life
Dacre Montgomery was born in Perth, Western Australia. His parents, Scott Montgomery-Harvey and Judith, both worked in the film industry in Australia. He also has a younger sister named Saskia.
Dacre started acting in plays and on screen when he was just nine years old. He went to Mount Lawley Senior High School in his hometown. When he was in his last year of high school, his classmates voted him "The most likely student to become a Hollywood star."
He continued to study acting throughout high school. In 2015, Dacre finished his acting degree at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts at Edith Cowan University. Dacre has shared that he had a tough time in school. He felt lost and started to feel anxious when he was young. He says he was picked on in school because of his weight and his love for theater. He even failed his drama exams in high school. When he was 18, he lost his job.
Dacre's Acting Career
Starting Out (2011–2016)
Dacre's first acting role was in a film called Betrand the Terrible in 2010. In 2011, he was in a TV pilot called Family Tree. He also appeared in a music video for the song "Old Souls" by the Australian band Make Them Suffer in 2015.
Later, Dacre played Jason Scott, the leader of the Power Rangers, in the Power Rangers movie. This film came out in 2017. Dacre also appeared in a music video for the song "Chateau" by the Australian music group Angus & Julia Stone. He also acted in A Few Less Men, which was a follow-up to the Australian comedy A Few Best Men.
Stranger Things and Becoming Famous (2017–Present)
In 2017, Dacre Montgomery joined the cast of the Netflix show Stranger Things. He played Billy Hargrove, a challenging and sometimes difficult character, in the second season. He continued this role in the third and fourth seasons. His acting as Billy was highly praised by critics.
Dacre was nominated for an MTV Movie & TV Award for his performance. He and his castmates also received two nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
On October 19, 2022, it was announced that Dacre would have a main role in a film called Went Up the Hill. This movie was written and directed by Samuel Van Grinsven. The film is set to be shown for the first time at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
Other Projects
On July 11, 2019, Dacre started his own podcast called "DKMH." On this podcast, he shares his own poetry. He explained that he spent two years writing his poems and working with musicians to bring them to life.
Dacre's Personal Life
Dacre Montgomery has been in a relationship with model Liv Pollock since 2017. Liv announced in December 2023 that they are now engaged.
Dacre has also shared that he has OCD. He said that it is a condition that both "fuels" him and sometimes "hinders" him.
