Dacre Kayd Montgomery-Harvey (born November 22, 1994) is an actor from Australia. He started acting in short films when he was a teenager. His first big movie was the adventure comedy A Few Less Men in 2017.
In 2017, Dacre became well-known for two big roles. He played Jason Scott / Red Ranger in the superhero movie Power Rangers. He also started playing Billy Hargrove in the popular Netflix show Stranger Things. His acting in Stranger Things was highly praised. He has also appeared in other films like Better Watch Out (2017) and The Broken Hearts Gallery (2020). In 2022, he played Steve Binder in the movie Elvis.

Early Life and Acting Dreams
Dacre Montgomery was born in Perth, Western Australia. His parents worked in the film industry in Australia. This meant he grew up around movies and TV shows.
He started acting on screen and in plays when he was nine years old. Dacre went to Bayswater Primary School and then Mount Lawley Senior High School. His classmates even voted him "The most likely student to become a Hollywood star" in their yearbook! He kept studying drama all through high school.
Dacre finished his acting degree in 2015. He studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. This school is part of Edith Cowan University. He has shared that he faced challenges in school. He worked hard to overcome these difficulties and follow his dream of acting.

Starting Out in Film and TV (2011–2016)
Dacre's first acting role was in a short film called Betrand the Terrible in 2010. The next year, in 2011, he was in a TV pilot called Family Tree.
In 2015, he appeared in a music video for the song "Old Souls." This song was by an Australian band called Make Them Suffer. The video was directed by Jason Eshraghian.
Dacre then got a big role as Jason Scott. Jason is the leader of the Power Rangers. This was for the Power Rangers movie reboot. The movie came out in 2017. He also appeared in another music video. This was for the song "Chateau" by the Australian music duo Angus & Julia Stone. He also acted in the movie A Few Less Men.
Becoming a Star with Stranger Things (2017–Present)
In 2017, Dacre Montgomery joined the cast of the Netflix series Stranger Things. He played the character Billy Hargrove in the second season. Billy was a tough and unpredictable teenager.
Dacre continued playing Billy in the third and fourth seasons. His performance was highly praised by critics. He was nominated for an MTV Movie & TV Award for his acting. He and his fellow cast members also received two nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. On July 10, 2019, Dacre started his own podcast. It is called "DKMH." On this podcast, he shares his own poetry. He explained that he spent two years writing his poems. He then worked with musicians to bring them to life for the podcast.
Personal Life
Dacre Montgomery has been in a relationship with model Liv Pollock since 2017. Liv announced in December 2023 that they are engaged to be married.
