Rugby League Career
Daine Laurie was born in Yamba, New South Wales. He started his journey in rugby league by playing for his local team, the Yamba Dolphins. His talent was noticed, and he was signed by the Western Suburbs Magpies to play in the NSW Cup.
Wests Tigers
In June 2008, Laurie's career took a big step forward when he signed a two-year contract with the Wests Tigers. He made his first appearance in the NRL during Round 15 of the 2008 NRL season, playing against the Brisbane Broncos. He played 20 games for the Tigers and scored three tries.
Penrith Panthers
In September 2009, Laurie signed a new two-year deal with the Penrith Panthers, starting in the 2010 season. After joining the Panthers, he made his first appearance for the team in a game against the New Zealand Warriors.
At the end of the 2010 season, Laurie went to France to play for the Saint-Gaudens Bears. This was a short-term contract to help him get more game time before the next Australian season. However, he was released from his contract with the Panthers in June 2011 for disciplinary reasons.
Later Career
After leaving the Panthers, Laurie continued to play rugby league. He joined the Macquarie Scorpions in the Newcastle Rugby League.
On November 20, 2011, he signed a one-year deal with the Newcastle Knights for the 2012 season. This gave him another chance to play in the NRL under the famous coach Wayne Bennett.
In 2013, Laurie joined the Wyong Roos, a team in the NSW Cup. Later, he also played for teams in local country competitions, including The South Grafton Rebels and The Lower Clarence Magpies.
