Stephen Damian O'Neill (born January 15, 1961) is a talented lead guitarist. He is best known for playing in the pop-punk band, The Undertones.
Damian joined The Undertones in 1976. He took over from his older brother, Vincent. He stayed with the band until they split up in 1983. Damian O'Neill helped write many songs for The Undertones. He often worked with the band's bassist, Michael Bradley.
After The Undertones broke up, Damian started a new band. It was called That Petrol Emotion. He formed this band with his other brother, John O'Neill, who also played guitar.
The Undertones got back together in 1999. Damian O'Neill still plays and records music with them today.
In 2001, Damian released a solo album. It was an experimental electronic album called A Quiet Revolution. He released it on Alan McGee's Poptones record label.
Since 2012, Damian O'Neill has been part of another band. This band is called The Everlasting Yeah. He plays with three of his old bandmates from That Petrol Emotion. Their music mixes different sounds, creating unique atmospheres. Their first album, Anima Rising, came out in 2014.
On November 10, 2014, Damian released a solo song. It was called "Trapped in a Cage". This song was released as a special 7-inch record. It was also available to download online.
Even though Damian O'Neill is left-handed, he plays the guitar like a right-handed person.
Damian O'Neill's Record Label
Damian O'Neill also runs his own record label. It is called Dimple Discs. This label has released music by various bands. One band is Baby Shakes, a glam rock and power pop group from America. They even covered an Undertones song called "Really Really" for a single on Dimple Discs.
