Damon Jackson Buford (born June 12, 1970) is an American former professional baseball player. He played as a center fielder. Damon played for several teams in Major League Baseball (MLB). These teams included the Baltimore Orioles, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, and Chicago Cubs. He played from 1993 to 2001. Buford batted and threw with his right hand.

Playing Baseball

College Years

Damon Buford played baseball at the University of Southern California. His teammates there included Bret Barberie, Bret Boone, Jay Hemond, and Jeff Cirillo.

In 1989 and 1990, he played collegiate summer baseball. This is when college players play in special leagues during their summer break. Damon played for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod Baseball League.

Damon Buford was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He grew up in Los Angeles, California. He went to Birmingham High School.

Damon's father, Don Buford, was also a baseball player. He played for the USC Trojans and in MLB, just like Damon. Later, his father worked as a hitting coach for a summer baseball team.
