Dana Wyse's Art
Early in her career, Dana Wyse used photography. She explored Canada's history and nature. Her photos can be seen in the book Vancouver: A History in Photographs.
In 1996, Wyse started her most famous art project. It is called Jesus Had A Sister Productions. This project is an art display that looks like a company selling "pills." She adds new parts to it every year.
The "Pill" Art Project
This art project is Dana Wyse's longest one. It pretends to be a made-up company that makes medicines. Each part of the project includes "pills," sprays, or sometimes even toys.
These items are packaged in plastic. They have a cardboard top that explains what they are for. The art explores different parts of human connections. This includes things like trust, love, and how people talk to each other.
Wyse also uses old advertisements from the 1960s. She includes them in her work to show how strange these ads could be. She also highlights how people love to shop and buy many things.
