Dance Revolution was a fun television series that combined dancing, fitness, and a game show! It was created by CBS and DIC Entertainment Corporation, working with Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. The show was inspired by the popular video game series Dance Dance Revolution.

The show first aired on September 16, 2006. It was part of a special Saturday morning block called KOL Secret Slumber Party on CBS. A big goal of Dance Revolution was to encourage kids to be active and eat healthy. The show ran for one season and ended on September 8, 2007.

Dance Revolution was filmed in Hollywood, California, where many famous movies and TV shows are made.

What Was Dance Revolution?

Dance Revolution was a dance competition show for kids. It was hosted by DJ Rick (also known as Rick Adams). The show also featured the Slumber Party Girls. They were a music group made up of Caroline Scott, Cassie Scerbo, Karla Deras, Carolina Carattini, and Mallory Low.

How the Show Worked

Every episode of Dance Revolution was about half an hour long. It started with exciting music played by the house band, the Slumber Party Girls. Then, DJ Rick would introduce the "Dance Crews." These were teams of contestants ready to show off their moves. He would also introduce the judges who would decide the winners.

The Dance Challenge

The Dance Crews would perform their own unique dance routines. After their performances, a choreographer named Leah Lynette would appear. She would teach the Dance Crews some brand new dance styles and moves. This helped the contestants learn and improve.

The Dance Off and Finale

Finally, the Dance Crews would face off in a "dance off." This was a final challenge where they showed what they learned. The judges would then pick the winning Dance Crew. The winners would move on to the next round of the competition. The ultimate winner of the finale received a $25,000 scholarship!

Show's Connection to the Game

Even though the show was named Dance Revolution, just like the video game Dance Dance Revolution, they were quite different. The TV show focused on live dance performances and competition. The video game is about stepping on arrows on a dance pad to the beat of music. The main similarity was the name and the general idea of dancing.
