Dane Lee Suttle (born August 9, 1961) is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played as a shooting guard for the Kansas City Kings in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before joining the pros, Suttle was a standout player at Pepperdine University.

Playing College Basketball
High School to Pepperdine
Dane Suttle went to John C. Fremont High School in Los Angeles. After high school, he decided to play college basketball at Pepperdine University. He played for the Pepperdine Waves team from 1979 to 1983.
College Achievements
Suttle was a very successful player in college. He was chosen for the All-West Coast Conference team twice. In 1983, he was named the co-Player of the Year for the West Coast Conference. He shared this honor with his teammate, Orlando Phillips.
Suttle helped lead the Pepperdine Waves to the NCAA tournament two years in a row. They made it to the big tournament in both 1982 and 1983. When he left Pepperdine, Dane Suttle was the school's all-time leading scorer. He scored a total of 1,702 points during his college career.
A Tough Moment in the NCAA Tournament
One challenging moment in Suttle's college career happened during the 1983 NCAA tournament. Pepperdine was playing against North Carolina State. The game went into overtime, and Pepperdine was ahead by six points.
With only 29 seconds left, Suttle was fouled. He went to the free-throw line for a "one-and-one" shot. This means if you make the first shot, you get a second one. He missed the first shot, and North Carolina State got the ball back. Pepperdine was still ahead by four points. Suttle was fouled again and missed another free throw. North Carolina State eventually won the game in a second overtime. They went on to win the national championship that year.

After his final year in college, Dane Suttle was chosen in the 1983 NBA draft. The Kansas City Kings picked him in the 7th round as the 152nd overall pick. He successfully made the team and played in 46 games. These games were played during the 1983–84 and 1984–85 NBA seasons.

During his time in the NBA, Suttle averaged 5.9 points per game. He also averaged 1.0 assists per game. After his NBA career, Suttle continued to be involved in basketball.
