About Danièle Rochon
Danièle Rochon was born in Ottawa, Ontario. She first studied arts at Laval University in Quebec City. Later, she also studied at Montreal University.
After her studies, she worked in advertising and translation for a few years. But her passion for art soon took over.
In 1975, Danièle decided to focus on art. She took classes at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts school. She also studied at the Saidye Bronfman's college of art. For two years, she learned about engraving at the Graff studio in Montreal. Engraving is a way to create art by carving designs into a surface.
She then spent seven years exploring her artistic style. She mostly used pastels and oil paints for her artworks.
Exhibitions and International Work
Starting in 1982, Danièle began to show her art. Her paintings were displayed in Canada and the United States. She had exhibitions in big cities like New York and San Francisco.

In 1990, Danièle created a huge painting. It was 23 meters long and 6 meters wide! This amazing artwork was titled "Hymne à la vie" (Hymn to Life). It was painted on a vaulted ceiling in Quebec City.
That same year, she moved to Provence in the south of France. There, she painted a special artwork for a church. It was a triptych, which means a painting made of three parts. She also showed her art in Europe. Her work was seen in Paris, Barcelona, and Copenhagen. Today, Danièle continues to paint in her studios in Montreal and Provence.
In 1992, Danièle helped with an opera project in New York. She designed the sets and costumes for the opera "Vaugirard."
