Danica Kragic (born around 1971) is a smart professor of computer science. She teaches at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2016, she received a special honor. She became a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This was for her work helping robots "see" and move objects.
Education and Early Life
Danica Kragic was born in Rijeka, a city in Croatia. She studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Rijeka. She earned her first advanced degree, a Master of Science (MSc), in 1995. Later, she continued her studies in Computer Science at KTH. She earned her highest degree, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), in 2001.
Working with Technology
Professor Kragic is a leader in the world of technology. In 2019, she was asked to join the board of directors for H&M. This is a big Swedish fashion company. A board of directors helps guide a company's decisions.
She also helps lead a major research project. It's called the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program. This program focuses on making smart robots. It also works on self-driving systems and computer programs.
