Daniel Jorge Castellani (born on March 21, 1961) is a famous Argentine volleyball coach and former player. He was a key player for the Argentine national team from 1976 to 1988. He won a bronze medal at the Seoul Olympics in 1988 and at the 1982 World Championship. Today, he is the head coach for the Argentina women's national team.

About Daniel Castellani

Daniel Castellani was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is married to Silvina Pozzo. They have two children, a daughter named Ariana and a son named Iván. Iván also became a professional volleyball player, just like his dad! He played as an opposite spiker for the Argentine national team.

Daniel Castellani's Coaching Journey

Daniel Castellani has had a long and successful career as a volleyball coach, leading many teams to victory.

Coaching Club Teams

Castellani coached Skra Bełchatów, a team in Poland, from 2006 to 2009. Later, in 2012, he became the head coach for another Polish team, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

In May 2015, he started coaching Sir Safety Perugia in Italy. After coaching Noliko Maaseik in Belgium for a season, he moved to Funvic Taubaté in Brazil in May 2017. He left that team in 2019.

Most recently, for the 2023–24 season, Castellani was chosen as the new head coach for Olympiacos, a team in Greece.

Coaching National Teams

In 2009, Daniel Castellani took on the big role of coaching the Polish national team. In September 2009, he led them to win the European Champions title! This was a huge achievement.

Because of this amazing success, he received a special award called the Knight's Cross of Polonia Restituta. This important award was given to him by the Prime Minister of Poland. His time with the Polish team ended after the 2010 World Championship.
