Daniel Tawiah Opare (born on October 18, 1990) is a professional footballer from Ghana. He plays as a right-back. This means he plays on the right side of the defense.

Daniel Opare's Club Career
Early Days in Football
In November 2007, a magazine called World Soccer named Opare as one of the "50 Most Exciting Teenagers on the Planet." He was praised for his amazing speed and accurate crossing skills. He showed these skills while playing for the Ghana national under-17 team, also known as the Black Starlets. This was during the 2007 U-17 World Cup.
On July 3, 2010, Opare left Real Madrid Castilla to join a Belgian club called Standard Liège. He played there for four successful years. Then, on May 20, 2014, he signed with the Portuguese club Porto. This happened just before the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Playing for FC Augsburg
On August 13, 2015, Opare signed a three-year contract with FC Augsburg. This is a German football club. The amount of money involved in the transfer was not shared publicly.
Joining Royal Antwerp
In July 2018, Opare signed with the Belgian club Royal Antwerp. He joined them as a free agent. This means his contract with his previous team had ended.
Moving to Seraing
On January 12, 2022, Opare signed a contract with Seraing. This contract was for one and a half years.

Youth Teams
2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup
Opare used to be a midfielder but became a skilled defender. He was great at starting attacks for the Black Starlets with his fast runs. He also provided accurate crosses to forwards like Ransford Osei and Sadick Adams. He was also very good and calm when defending.
He helped set up many goals for Ghana at the 2007 African Under-17 Championship in March 2007. He also did well in the U-17 World Cup, playing in all seven matches. Many people thought Opare was the best defender at the 2007 FIFA U17 World Cup.
2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup
In September 2009, Opare was part of the Ghana national under-20 team. This team is called the Black Satellites. They played in the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt. Opare helped Ghana win this tournament for the first time. They beat Brazil in the final match. This exciting game took place on October 16, 2009.
Senior National Team
On November 13, 2007, Opare got his first call-up to the senior Ghana squad. He was just 17 years old. The coach, Claude Le Roy, called him up for a FIFA friendly match against Togo. This match was played in Accra, Ghana, on November 18, 2007. Opare had shown his skills by helping with two goals in an earlier friendly game.
2008 African Cup of Nations
Opare was chosen for Ghana's team for the 2008 African Cup of Nations. However, on January 10, 2008, the team doctor announced that Opare could not play. He had an ankle injury from training in Dubai. He was removed from the squad along with other injured players.
2012 African Cup of Nations
In December 2011, Opare was named in Ghana's first squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. In January 2012, he was officially selected for the final 23-man team. However, the coach at the time, Goran Stevanović, did not give Opare a chance to play in any of Ghana's six matches during the tournament.
2014 FIFA World Cup
On June 2, 2014, Opare was chosen for Ghana's team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. In Ghana's first match, he started as the right-back against the United States. Ghana lost that game 2–1. Opare did not play in the other two matches. Ghana's team did not make it past the group stage of the tournament.
