Daniel Robin (born May 31, 1943 – died May 23, 2018) was a famous French wrestler. He was so good that he was honored by being added to the United World Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012.

Daniel Robin was born in Bron, France. He became a true legend in wrestling, especially at the Olympic Games. At the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, he achieved something amazing. He won two silver medals in wrestling at the same Olympics! This was a record, as he was the first wrestler ever to do this. He earned one silver medal in Freestyle wrestling and another in Greco-Roman wrestling.
More Big Wins
Besides his Olympic success, Daniel Robin also won a gold medal at the 1967 World Wrestling Championships. This showed he was one of the best wrestlers in the world. He also had great success at the 1967 Mediterranean Games in Tunis, where he won two more gold medals, one in Freestyle wrestling and one in Greco-Roman wrestling. He also competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics.
After His Wrestling Days
Even after he stopped competing, Daniel Robin stayed very involved in the world of wrestling. He became the head coach for the French national wrestling team, helping new athletes become champions. Later, he became the vice-president of the French Wrestling Federation. He also worked as a technical delegate for FILA, which is now called United World Wrestling, helping to organize wrestling events around the globe. In 2010, he was even chosen to be the director of wrestling operations for the 2012 London Olympics.
Daniel Robin passed away on May 23, 2018, in Longueuil, Canada, at the age of 74. He left behind a great legacy in the sport of wrestling.
