Daniel Tetrault (born September 4, 1979) is a Canadian ice hockey player. He played as a professional ice hockey defenceman. A defenceman's job is to help protect their team's goal. He was also a team captain for the Rapid City Rush in the ECHL.
Daniel was first chosen by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. This was a big moment for his career! After he stopped playing, he became a coach for the Rapid City Rush from 2017 to 2021.
Daniel Tetrault's Playing Career
Daniel Tetrault played in several different hockey leagues. These included the Central Hockey League (CHL) and the ECHL. He was known for his strong defensive play.
In the 2001–02 season, Daniel won an important award. He was named the Most Outstanding Defenseman in the CHL. This award showed how skilled he was at his position.
One of his biggest achievements was winning the Ray Miron Cup championship. He won this cup with the Allen Americans team in the 2013–14 season. Winning a championship is a huge success for any hockey player! After this victory, Daniel joined the Rapid City Rush team. He played his last professional games with them.
From Player to Coach
After a long playing career, Daniel Tetrault became a coach. He coached the Rapid City Rush team from 2017 to 2021. This allowed him to share his experience with new players.
