Imagine being stranded on a secret island! That's what happens to Danny Dunn and his friends. Danny, his pal Joe Pearson, Professor Bulfinch, and Doctor Grimes are flying. They are in a small private jet over the huge Pacific Ocean. Suddenly, their plane has to make an emergency landing. They crash on an island that isn't even on any map!

Now, these four people are all alone. They only have what's in their pockets. They must figure out how to survive. They also need to find a way to get rescued from this wild, unknown place.
