Danny Richardson Young, born on July 26, 1962, is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He was a 6-foot-3-inch guard who played for Wake Forest University. Danny spent ten seasons in the NBA from 1984 to 1993, and again in 1994-1995. He played for teams like the Seattle SuperSonics, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, and Milwaukee Bucks.

Danny Young was an important backup player for the 1990 Blazers team. This team made it all the way to the NBA Finals. When he retired, Danny had scored 2,622 points and made 1,674 assists in his NBA career.

The same day Danny Young was released by Seattle, the Portland Trail Blazers signed him. He quickly became the third main guard for the Blazers. He played alongside famous players like Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter. Danny was a key part of the Blazers team that reached the NBA Finals in 1990. He stayed with the Blazers until January 1992. He was then released to make space for a new player named Lamont Strothers.
