He played for teams like the Seattle SuperSonics, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, and Milwaukee Bucks.
Danny Young was an important backup player for the 1990 Blazers team. This team made it all the way to the NBA Finals. When he retired, Danny had scored 2,622 points and made 1,674 assists in his NBA career.

Playing for the Seattle SuperSonics
Danny Young started his NBA career with the Seattle SuperSonics. He played there for several seasons. Towards the end of his time in Seattle, he wasn't playing as much. There were many other backup guards on the team. The SuperSonics tried to trade him to another team, but they couldn't find a deal. Because of this, they decided to let him go on November 3, 1988.
Time with the Portland Trail Blazers
The same day Danny Young was released by Seattle, the Portland Trail Blazers signed him. He quickly became the third main guard for the Blazers. He played alongside famous players like Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter. Danny was a key part of the Blazers team that reached the NBA Finals in 1990. He stayed with the Blazers until January 1992. He was then released to make space for a new player named Lamont Strothers.
