How the Show Worked
In 2008, five different bands took part each week. Each week had two main parts. First, the bands could perform any pop or rock song they liked. This allowed them to show off their own style.
After that, came the "Dansband Classic" part. Here, a famous "dansband" song was chosen by drawing. A dansband is a type of Swedish band that plays dance-friendly pop music. The competing bands then performed their own version of this classic song.
As the competition went on, bands that made it to the finals got to perform a brand new song they had created themselves. Finally, the last two bands left would perform their own unique version of a well-known song.
There were even talks about making similar versions of the show in other countries. For example, a disco or folk music version in Poland and a country music version in the United States.
